The Library is pleased to announce a reception for Open Eyes, a new art exhibit by artist and calligrapher Barbara Bash, Sunday, August 1st from 1-3pm at the library.

An exhibit of original art from a wide selection of Barbara’s books that explore the world of the desert, old growth forests, Indian banyan trees, little brown bats, black footed ferrets and urban birds. The art will be displayed – and for sale – throughout the library from August through October. Copies of Barbara’s books will be available for purchase at the opening to support the library.

Barbara Bash is a calligrapher and illustrator who has written and illustrated numerous award-winning books for children illuminating the stories of the natural world. Barbara has traveled widely to experience the creatures and ecosystems firsthand and has shared her drawing and research process with many school children over the years.
