What is SongClub? …
Singing, Feeling Good, and Community Building. Debbie Lan started SongClub as an interactive drop-in singing event in October 2018. The audience is the choir!
Attendees receive a lyric sheet for the afternoon’s song. Debbie leads an enjoyable and energizing vocal warm-up and the group is split into three parts—low voices, middle voices, and high voices. She then teaches an original vocal arrangement for the main song of the event. By the end of the program, the groups have mastered three part harmonies of a well-known pop, folk, rock or traditional song. Everyone has a lot of fun singing, laughing and connecting with their community.
Debbie Lan is a Musician, Singer, Composer and Teaching Artist with two award-winning CDs for Families and Kids with her band Grenadilla. Debbie also directs and arranges for four adult community voice ensembles: Bloom, The B2’s, Tuesday Evening Voice Ensemble and the Resisterhood Choir. With a passion for singing, arranging songs, teaching group harmonies and community building, Debbie is excited to facilitate regular SongClub sessions.
