The 72nd Annual Library Fair will be held on Saturday, June 9 from 10 am to 3 pm, rain or shine, on the Library grounds. The festivities will include a giant book sale, plant sale, children’s activities, craft and gift booths, food and drink, and entertainment all day. The Bag Sale, offering a bag of books for $10 will take place on Sunday from 10-2.
*New this year! On Monday from 3 – 6pm leftover books will be offered for FREE. Early arrivals will not be accommodated.
The main event of the Fair is Books! Displayed under the large striped tent, the selection will include everything from novels to history, cook books, biographies, poetry, art and specialty “coffee table” books, and children’s books.
Flowering annuals, perennials, herbs and grasses, donated by local businesses as well as garden and house plants donated from home gardens will overflow the plant tent. Pots and labels are available now at the garden gate for home gardeners who would like to donate. Sensational hybrid daylilies will be on sale again this year.
Cherries of Stone Ridge will join the Library team again this year with favorite summertime fare. And show stopping strawberry shortcake, root beer floats and cotton candy will evoke memories of summers past. Home baked treats, coffee and tea will round out the menu.
Our music begins at 10 with Trio Mio, followed by Breakaway with Robin Baker at 11, then BLOOM directed by Debbie Lan at Noon, Cheryl & Kurt at 1, and wrap up with the Rondout Valley High School Jazz Band, directed by Randolph Loder.
Gifts and tableware, as well as art and jewelry will be available for purchase, and the Stone Ridge Saturday Knitters will be on hand to demonstrate their craft and sell their wares.
Parking will be available at the High Meadow School, Key Bank, Express Tech and the Marbletown Community Center. The NYS Troopers, Kingston Barracks and the Marbletown Rescue Squad will be available for traffic control and assistance.
Volunteers are the heart of the Fair; there is still time to sign up at stoneridgelibrary.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer. For last minute information, please visit the SRL Facebook page.
