Writing Workshop, “Where I’m From”

The Library is pleased to host a free writing workshop WHERE I’M FROM © Copyright by Carol Bergman 2020

This workshop is designed to inspire poets and prose writers to find inspiration in their family history, family legends, childhood neighborhoods, early schooling, significant friendships, influences, and unexpected challenges. There will be discussion about writing craft, sample readings, and free writing in situ.

Carol Bergman’s journalism, narrative nonfiction, fiction and poetry has been published in numerous publications in the US, the UK and Canada. “Objects of Desire,” appearing in Lilith and Whetstone Literary Review was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in nonfiction. “Another Day in Paradise; International Humanitarian Workers Tell Their Stories,” was nominated for the prestigious J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize. She is one of the founding faculty at Gotham Writers Workshop and has been teaching in the NYU writing program since 1997. She moved to the Hudson Valley in the spring of 2018 and is delighted to be teaching her third workshop at The Stone Ridge Library. www.carolbergman.net
