Get a Library Card

It’s easy to get a library card!
Visit the library with your photo ID and proof of current address to fill out a registration card.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You can also register online to receive a temporary digital library card. This card gives you immediate access to our online databases, downloadable eBooks, and audiobooks. The temporary card is valid for 3 months.

To check out physical materials or place holds, you’ll need to complete your registration in person and receive a permanent library card. Just bring your photo ID and proof of current address.

A physical library card will give you access to everything the library and the Mid-Hudson Library System have to offer – both digital resources and physical books + materials.  If you currently have a physical Stone Ridge Library card, you do not need a digital card.

If you are not a library member, you can either come in-person to get a physical card, or register online for a digital library membership.

To get a digital library membership: Fill out the form and within 1-2 business days you will receive an email with your library card number and temporary PIN.

This card can be used to access all of our e-content! E-books, downloadable audiobooks, streaming videos; databases, all available!

When you register for a DIGITAL membership, a physical card will be created for you and held at the library’s circulation desk. You will need this card if you want to check out any physical items or visit other libraries in the MHLS.

Email the Library with the following information to receive your digital card.

Marbletown Residents

As a special district library, Marbletown residents support the library through their taxes. To borrow library materials, we ask that you fill out an application giving us some information about yourself for our computer. You will need to show some form of identification and proof of residency such as a driver’s license, or if you are new to the area, an envelope, such as a phone bill recently mailed to your new address. You will be given a card with your patron number which will give you immediate access to library materials. Cards are available for children over the age of three.
