About the Library

The Stone Ridge Public Library is a special district library located on Route 209 in Stone Ridge. Located in a historic stone building, the library has been in existence since 1909. In 2000, the Library became a special district library, supported by the tax payers of Marbletown. The Library is administered by a nine person Board of Trustees, elected by Marbletown residents.

The Library is a member of the Mid-Hudson Library System. Through this system, patrons have access to materials in 65 libraries in the surrounding area.

Children’s services include after-school story hours, participation in the state wide summer reading program, and special programming throughout the year.

Adult programming includes book groups, conversational language groups, a poetry group, a weekly knitters group, a writers group and varied special programming throughout the year. All programs are posted on our online Calendar.

Volunteer hours are available during the week for patrons of all ages. Our annual Library Fair is a town tradition, and is held on the second Saturday in June every year. Our volunteers work year round to make the Fair a special day for everyone.
