Upcoming Foundation Events

December 1st, 2021

Dear Friend,

As we approach the end of 2021, we at the Stone Ridge Library Foundation are looking forward to the New Year with hope and the expectation of an even better year ahead. During the past year the Stone Ridge Library faced many difficult decisions in reopening and reintroducing its many programs after last year’s shutdown. The Library is felt by so many of us to be the heart of the community, and the return of services and programs meant a reassuring return to normality and reconnection.

In 2021 the Library hosted many in-person events such as art exhibits, poetry and writers’ groups and the Knitters’ Club. Digital events included online tours of the Cloisters and the New York Public Library. There was increased usage of online borrowing of books and movies on platforms such as Kanopy, Libby and Overdrive. Virtual story hours connected children across the community. Other plans for increased services and events in 2022 are in the works.

Next year, in place of the traditional fair, the Library has three new and exciting community events lined up for the spring, summer and fall. The Little Book Barn will become a bigger book barn, and an outdoor patio for events is planned. New programs will feature a monthly Guitar Jam, an in-person Children’s Story Hour and events featuring guest authors, artists and lecturers. The children’s playground will be updated. The Library Foundation will continue to host and participate in events such as Hudson Valley Gives, the Butcher & Bar Community Movie Night Benefit and our popular Online Auction. Thanks to your donations, we will continue to support the Library and help to make next year’s plans a reality.

Once again, we at the Foundation are asking for your continued support and generosity so that the Library can provide an even richer experience for you in 2022. Our best wishes for a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season and New Year. See you at the Library!
