The Stone Ridge Library and the Town of Marbletown are collaborating with HeartCorps HeartCorps was launched by the American Heart Association and AmeriCorps to improve heart health in communities nation wide.
More than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur each year in the United States. The American Heart Association wants everyone to become a part of the Nation of Lifesavers that are prepared to act in an emergency with three simple steps: Share, Practice, and Activate. During cardiac arrest, CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival.
Join us for a demonstration of Hands-Only CPR, which has been shown to be as effective in the first few minutes as conventional CPR for cardiac arrest at home, at work or in public.
